As part of our STIRE project, Development Perspectives will host two online volunteer fairs, the first of which will take place on Thursday, October 15th.
About this Event
The volunteer fair is for migrants based in Ireland who wish to learn more about volunteering in their communities and want to find out about some of the volunteer opportunities available to them. Volunteering is a great way for migrants to learn about their local communities, meet new people, make friends and learn new skills.
MUDEM will be presenting their Volunteer Opportunities in the fair between 12:15-12:45 pm.
Some of the organisations who will provide information on volunteering opportunities at the fair include:
- Dublin City Volunteers
- Business in the Community (BITC)
- MUDEM Refugee Support Centre
-Dignity Partnership Fair

Dublin City Council Social Inclusion Week
As part of the Social Inclusion Week arranged by Dublin City Council, MUDEM is participating in a Creative Virtual Event on Wednesday 30th September, 6pm – 7.30pm.
The event MUDEM will be running is:
“Storytelling: Creating an Evidence-based Narrative around Migration”
“The topic of migration can be sometimes discouraging and difficult to discuss. Our event will give migrant people and the host communities a voice. We will create a safe environment in which participants can discuss and learn to sympathize with other opinions.
The motto of this event is: “At the end we realize these aren’t just migrant stories, they are human stories. They are OUR stories”.
Firstly we will discuss the correct terminology, culture, inclusion and diversity, stereotyping and prejudices (Informative session). Then, we will use storytelling techniques in order to help all participants tell their own stories here in Ireland, using the challenges they have faced to aid in crafting an evidence based narrative. We welcome applicants from host and migrant communities to promote diversity and inclusion.”
